Herein brave heroes and vile fiends shall find tomes and
grimoires of lore and wisdom.
There are three parts to Advanced HeroQuest: the miniatures;
the rules; & the game boards/counters.
MINIATURES
If you want miniatures, they’re not really something you can
download. The game’s original creator, Games Workshop, still sell a nice
selection of Warhammer Fantasy Battle miniatures suitable for AHQ. Failing
that, a number of other suppliers also sell suitable miniatures.
RULES
The rules, are what this project is all about! We have
re-written the rules for clarity, tweaked a few of them for balance and/or to
make the game flow better, and expanded them to make a fully rounded-out
system.
For ease of reference, we have divided the rules into a
number of volumes. You could combine these into a single volume, but we find
that by separating them, it is much easier to access the needed rules.
The introduction explains what everything is by way of game
material, including detailed information on the books.
The rule book contains all the core rules that will be
referenced by the other booklets. It will teach you the game.
The various appendices contain specific information for one
sub-part of the game. If, for example you find treasure, then Appendix IV –
Treasure will be where you look to see what treasure you find, and what it
does.
These are the unfinished volumes, currently the 'missing' bestiary volumes which we are still working on.
With a few splashes of colour and quite a bit of art, these
are suitable for those with access to a cheap colour printer.
Full colour, illustrated volumes, suitable for professional
print & bind.
BOARDS & COUNTERS
Here we have printable board sections, designed with walls and without the jigsaw joins. You can then
print & play to your heart's content.
Blogcromancy at work...was any development on the other bestiaries ever done?
ReplyDeleteQuestion: why are the boards and counters being hosted on a book site, where a monthly subscription is required just to access the site? The rules are hosted on Dropbox, and the boards&counters files together are smaller than the "printer destroying" playsheets PDF.
ReplyDeleteThe Return of the Lichemaster campaign seems to be missing the maps.

Thanks for this! Especially like the different versions of the rules, from plain text to full color. Very thoughtful!
ReplyDeleteLinks are broken
ReplyDeleteLinks are working for some people, not others. No clue how or why. Trying to fix this.
DeleteMiniatures can be downloaded, just download the cardboard ones:

The last link has full Adv HQ pdf links part way down called 'figurine nouvelles'.
The core rulebook seems to have a missing image link on the second page. Its present on both the printer-friendly and non-printer-friendly versions. Any idea what went there?
ReplyDeleteIs the Magic and Spellbook missing from your rules? I can't seem to see it in the PDFs
